General issues for these training sessions

• Drop in students are always welcome.

• We won't assume any programming experience, but will talk about programming and advanced topics in the later sessions.

• Operating system: For these training sessions, we will be assuming Windows as the operating system, and talk about the differences in Unix/Linux when necessary.

• Matlab version: we will be using MatLab version 5.3 ("Release 11"). Matlab 6.0 is the newest, but there are some changes to the interface and allowed syntax, and "possible" problems running the current version of SPM. However, everything we do in these basic sessions is completely applicable to Matlab 6.

• Notes and textbooks: There is no textbook for these sessions. Notes will be available on the DNL website sometime after each session. For those interested in more reading, I've got a suggested list of books.
